Raditya Rondi (22), surfers from Bali, the highest degree as the overall champion at the 2011 Asian Surfing Championship. The award winners are given in Sentosa Island, Singapore, Saturday (17/12/2011) night.
This championship race nine categories of surfing and was followed four countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Thailand.
In September, Rondi won the Quiksilver Thailand Surf Competition in Phuket. He also won the Rip Curl Surf & Music Festival in Bali in October. Last week, Rondi won the Billabong Pro Cherating in Malaysia. In addition, Rondi also was runner-up at Coca-Cola Indonesian Surfing Championship 2011.
"This is the biggest award of my life, and I will always remember him. I hope next year surfing continues to grow in Asia so that we can create more competition again. It must be fun," said Rondi.
Category longboard champion, Arip Nur Hidayat from West Java could not come at this award ceremony. Hidayat also Indonesian longboard champion 2011.
In the women's winner is Yasnyiar "Bonne" Gea from Sumatra. He competed in five categories and won three of them.
Decha Sithidej from Thailand won the Masters category, namely for surfers aged over 35 years.
Surfers from Singapore, Nasri Banadhaj, stating happy to be part of this championship. "Thanks to Indonesia and Malaysia, which has divided the waves at us. We know, there are no waves in Singapore," he said.
